I personally have ADHD, so does my brother and my father. One of the hardest things before I was medicated was bringing focus and silence into my world. There is so much going on in my head that I couldn’t focus on any single thing. When I started my bachelor of early childhood education, I very quickly looked for ways to explain ADHD and bring strategies to help the children sit and breathe. Luckily for me, there are so many resources that help to explain this. One of the best books I have found is ‘Lemonade Hurricane’. It even has a note of how to do a lesson on meditation. I have actually used this book in two of my placements as a way of introducing the notion of meditation. The author has actually included the ways of managing the lesson. I can’t recommend it enough!
